How to Keep Your Kitchen Countertops in the Best Condition

Kitchen

Every kitchen is the hub of the house and the hub of the kitchen in the kitchen counter. Even on the days when you aren’t cooking and preparing delicious meals, the countertops remain busy taking the grocery loads.

The kitchen countertops are also where you casually drop the mail from the mailbox, or you beat your fingers at the countertop while waiting for your coffee.

Who knows, you might perform some crazy yoga position while waiting for the coffee to brew on the countertop – you get the idea: the kitchen countertops take a lot of abuse, which is why it might be a great idea to place Custom Flat Plastic Sheets over the countertops to keep them protected from cuts and bruises.

However, you might need to do more than this and occasionally deep-clean the countertops as well.

Here is how to clean different countertops to keep them in the best position.

Cleaning the Butcher Block

Besides cleaning the butcher block regularly, we recommend oiling the surface for the maintenance of the sheen of the surface. For regular cleaning and maintenance of the butcher block, we recommend using some of nature’s acid – lemon or vinegar, which will help you get rid of the more stubborn stains, such as red wine and whatnot.

Cleaning Marble Countertops

Marble kitchen countertops are soaring high regarding popularity and choice; however, while these (marble countertops) might look so classy, shiny, and elegant, these are vulnerable to scratches and stains. However, all you need to do is clean the countertops regularly with some lukewarm water, mild dish soap, a bottle of spray, and some towels or soft cloth.

For the longevity of the marble countertops, we recommend staying away from the use of natural lemon juice and vinegar. Believe us when we tell you that despite the fact that these are natural acids, they can etch the marble surface of the countertops, which is why we recommend doing some DIY remedies by making a paste of water and baking soda to get rid of the stubborn stains, such as the stains of red wine on your countertops.

Cleaning Granite Countertops

There are different ways to clean granite countertops – the easiest way is to never use harsh chemicals, such as Windex. You don’t need any of the other granite cleaners available in the markets. You need gentle soap (preferably dish soap), a soft cloth (microfiber), and occasionally some cleaning alcohol. Rest assured, with a few strikes; you will have your granite kitchen counters fresh and clean.

Cleaning Countertops Made of Stainless Steel

Now, if the countertops in your kitchen are made of stainless steel, your kitchen must have an industrial vibe going in. Besides, stainless steel counters are also quite trendy; however, there is one tiny problem – they carry stark evidence of your fingerprints – just like your stainless steel fridge.

However, the fingerprints are easy to wipe – all you need is a soft scrubbing brush and a soft cleaning cloth.
